The 0-length data recv are never sent from a remote send. Rather the remote
side close the write channel of the socket which will trigger a socket
event and a phantom 0-length data recev to signify this event.
This comes the socket spec if I remember correctly.  There are also some
difference between graceful shutdown and abortive shutdown but I cannot
recall the details.
