Iam just forwarding the minutes of the meeting date 25-07-2020
Minutes of the meet held on 25.07.2020


Due to Covid 19 pandemic the meetup format was converted into online format 
from April 2020 and the 4th edition of the online event was conducted on 
25.07.2020 at 3.00 PM.

The entire event was hosted by Mr.Vijaykumar and Mr.Rengaraj the organizers of 
the meetup (Chennaipy). Around 77 members were registered for the event and 21 
members witnessed the event online. The meeting was conducted thro the link

Mr.Vijayakumar briefed about the purpose of the meetup to the new members and 
listed out the agenda of the meet. First presenters are introduced to the 
members and then he permits the presenters one by one to deliver the talk.

The first talk “Starting Django Project The Right Way“ was given by Mr.Arvind 
Nedumaran an active Django Developer having 10 years of experience in the 
field. He introduced Django and gave a detailed account of how to set up a 
Django environment. He covered Directory structure,  Settings configuration, 
Requirements, Environment var and user model. He also explained the 
Cookiecutter - A command-line utility that creates projects from cookiecutters 
(project templates), e.g. creating a Python package project from a Python 
package project template. The Session ends with Q & A.

The second talk “Machine Learning using Scikit-Learn” was given by 
Dr.R.Senthilkumar an Assistant Professor from IRTT, Erode who has an 10 years 
of experience in the machine learning field. He introduced machine learning ,  
classification methods and KNN methods to extract information from the data. He 
took examples of cauvery water pollution and processed images obtained from the 
river basin. He used Python to solve the problem and visualize the output. He 
used anaconda package and spyder IDE to demonstrate the problem. The Session 
ends with Q & A.

The speaker answered the Question and in real time more samples had to be taken 
for accurate  results.

The third talk “ Introduction to Kivy “ was given by Dr.M.Muralidharan, Head , 
CS, Nehru Memorial College who has an 33 years of experience in the teaching 
field. He introduced the Kivy - an application framework for developing 
graphics user interface apps. He gave the salient features of kivy an extension 
of python and elaborated the installation procedures. He further explained the 
architecture of kivy and finally ended the session with demo programs. The 
Session ends with Q & A.

The speaker answered in affirmative that kivy can be installed in the 32 bit 
operating system and if the user wants to work independent of the platform he 
can set the virtualenv.

In the lightning talk session Mr.Rengaraj gave an idea about participating in 
“Pycon 2020” an online event disseminating the knowledge about python and 
necessary techniques.He also encouraged the members to submit the proposals for 
the talk session and workshop session. 


Mr.Vijaykumar wrapped the session with summation of meetup and thanked the 
members. The meeting ended at 5.30 pm
