I am happy to report that one of the FreeBSD gurus helped to fix the patches required for this port to run.
For anyone interested, this link provides both our patches and diffs to previous versions. http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/ports/www/cherokee/ I've tested it on 6-STABLE and -CURRENT with no problems. Also, I have added option knobs to make configuration easier on our platform. Anyone encountering a problem With Cherokee on FreeBSD, feel free to contact me.
