  I have implemented a new I/O layer to try to improve the server
  performance.  It seems it worth the effort :-)

  I haven't tried yet.  I sent that mail just after finishing the code
  changes.  I'm going to prepare a better benchmark to publish it just
  before release the 0.4.25 version.
