Hi, The stable Debian releases are _never_ automatically updated - They are stable as long as you keep using them. The Cherokee version currently shipping with the stable release (Etch, Debian 4.0) is 0.5.5, which is -admittedly- quite old in the Cherokee timescale. Debian Lenny (5.0) will shortly be released. There are no schedules to keep, of course - We want Debian to have top quality, not to release on time ;-) I would expect the release somewhere around November... But that's only a guess. Lenny will release with Cherokee 0.7.2. I have a half-baked 0.8.1 sitting in my hard drive, waiting me to fix some minor issues, which will be uploaded shortly to our unstable branch. Once Lenny is released and marked the stable branch, a new testing branch (code-name Squeeze) will be forked off unstable. Note that, if you feel strongly we should have a newer version of Cherokee for stable releases, I can build it for our etch-backports (and eventually, lenny-backports) archives - You will have to manually specify following them, but unless you _really_ have a need for it, my advice is to stick with the stable, proven integrity of "pure" stable releases.
