Actually, the best thing about the change I proposed is to be able to write as many back-ends as we wish. If you guys are interested on supporting NSS, I'd ask someone to maintain the back-end, actually. By the moment, the only crypto plugin included within the main source tree will be libssl (it is the most widespread library, and I don't think it's worth supporting the same thing twice inside the same source tree).
