I don't think we should try to make Cherokee compatible with Apache, actually. The conversion script looks to me like the most pragmatic solution. In case there were somebody so tight to .htaccess files, I'm afraid that sticking with Apache would be his best option. IMO that's a really-corner case anyway; it wouldn't worth adding a whole new compatibility layer to Cherokee in order to support those files. However, there's still quite some work to do regarding the delegation and merging of configuration. I completely agree on that, although I'd discuss the required functionality and look for the best technical solution, rather than assuming that .htaccess is the best choice. > On Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 5:00 AM, Gunnar Wolf <[email protected]> wrote: >> Iván Chavero dijo [Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 10:04:48PM -0700]: >>> Hello, >>> >>> I recently had to migrate 20 web sites to another server and used >>> the >>> opportunity to migrate from apache to cherokee as well, searched >>> the web a >>> little for a migration tool and did not find any so i decide to >>> write a >>> little tool to do this. >>> (...) >>> which should be enough for a typical static web site or LAMP >>> application. >>> >>> If someone finds this useful, please send feedback. >> >> This looks really sweet! Agreed. +1 for this. -- Octality http://www.octality.com/ _______________________________________________ Cherokee mailing list [email protected] http://lists.octality.com/listinfo/cherokee
