You didn't provide any detail about what configuration you have set, but probably you are redirecting mydomain.com to www.mydomain.com and viceversa (hence the loop), or mydomain.com to itself. In your mydomain.com's default rule set a redirection to www.mydomain.com In your www.mydomain.com's don't set any redirection.
