Actually, maybe the opposite would hold - The Debian package does not depend (or even recommend or suggest) PHP. If the default configuration we are shipping _is_ referencing PHP, maybe the package should recommend or suggest it¹. If the default configuration is ready for PHP, maybe PHP should be present for the casual user - But then again, how many information sources should we present by default? Shouldn't probably PHP rather be absent from the default configuration file? After all, it's not that Cherokee is closer to PHP than to any other web development language/technology ¹ What is the difference? They are basically two levels - 'Recommended' packages are installed by default upon installation but can be removed with no ill efects; suggestions are not installed by default (unless you so specify systemwide) -- Gunnar Wolf - [email protected] - (+52-55)5623-0154 / 1451-2244 PGP key 1024D/8BB527AF 2001-10-23 Fingerprint: 0C79 D2D1 2C4E 9CE4 5973 F800 D80E F35A 8BB5 27AF _______________________________________________ Cherokee mailing list [email protected] http://lists.octality.com/listinfo/cherokee
