Well, there are many answers to your question... My solution of choice would
be to simulate a real hostname. So, here it is:

1) create an entry in your hosts file (I don't know what OS are you using)
like www.yourdomain.com pointing to 127.0.0.1
2) set the nickname (or host match) of the desired vhost to
www.yourdomain.com in cherokee-admin
3) configure the Wordpress hostname as www.yourdomain.com

The big advantage: it is really straight forward to migrate into production
if you use real names.
