Taher, I had a similar conversation with Alvaro when I was getting started with Cherokee.
I think the look and feel are fine, however the organizational part of the information is what you pointed out needing revised mostly. I would say get to work on the information part with current design. After that is completed it will be much more useful and suitable to reskin the look and feel. That's how I would approach it. Search ability of the content would be a good feature I've needed many times.
