Why not something like xampp ? because of FCGI ( fastcgi ) and other *cgi + informatiin sourcess.
As you see cherokee is a little bit different than apache. You don't need to "load" module for php, python etc. Just define the source... the information sourcess mechanizm is easy to use ( super easy ), when you add the wizard functionality to it you just need to install the correct package in system (apt-get, yum or make...). That's all. And you get the even more than xampp. That's my opinion, and how I "understand" this situation. But.. As I remember there was a project for it... it was cherokee + php + mysql + opensolaris as I remember, I forgot name of it. But it was for old cherokee ( no wizards ) Greetings, Jedrzej Nowak On Apr 10, 2010 8:35 PM, "mario alejandro" <[email protected]> wrote: I think this web server have potential but wonder why do not exist installs for windows (understandable) or OSX (osx is other unix, why is not available?). Obviously the deploy target is mainly linux but the majority of the web development is on osx/windows. Also, could be very interesting if exist something like XAMPP, with bundle of the web server, database, ruby/python, etc, similar to how BitRock give prepackaged installs (also BitRock have a free version for open source projects- I'm a user-) -- Mario A.Montoya Gerente http://www.elmalabarista.com _______________________________________________ Cherokee mailing list [email protected] http://lists.octality.com/listinfo/cherokee
