After some upgrade bug hunting and patching Packages for Ubuntu Lucid, Karmic, Jaunty and Hardy are done at the usual place https://edge.launchpad.net/~cherokee-webserver/+archive/ppa/+packages PLEASE backup your cherokee.conf before upgrade packages now upgrades and works fine.
