I suffered the same confusion at first. The context of phrases like "path" and "directory" is important. As with apache...the nomenclature is obvious once you get it and completely nonobvious before then. The difference is there are thousands of books written about apache and so far none for Cherokee. I'm willing to accept a steeper learning curve in exchange for the lighter footprint and cleaner architecture of Cherokee.
