Docs say (under Index -> Configuration -> Virtual servers):
Additionally, if a content expiration option is set, it
is possible to specify the way in which an intermediate
cache should treat the content, for situations such as
when the content is requested to Cherokee through an
HTTP proxy. This is done through the Management by caches
setting, that can be specified to any of the following values:
Not set, Private, Public, No Cache.
If the setting is enabled, four additional parameters can be
individually turned on and off to fine tune the behavior:
1. No Store: Prevents the retention of sensitive information.
Caches must not store this content.
2. No Transform: Forbid intermediate caches from transforming the content.
3. Must Revalidate: The client must contact the server to revalidate the
object.
4. Proxies Revalidate: Proxy servers must contact the server to revalidate
the object.
Docs are incorrect or cherokee-admin ui is missing the "four additional
parameters"
which are suppose to show up when any content expiration option is set.
This completely breaks all browsers with caching turned on because
the correct headers to return with .php are (from my apache2.conf):
# Force no caching for dynamic files
<FilesMatch "\.(php|cgi|pl)$">
ExpiresActive Off
Header set Cache-Control "max-age=0, must-revalidate, private, no-cache, no-store, proxy-revalidate,
no-transform"
Header set Pragma "no-cache"
</FilesMatch>
So two problems:
1) docs should be fixed to correctly direct newbies (like me)
to the correct "Management by Caches" ui selection section
or cherokee-admin ui should be fixed
2) the php language wizard should automatically setup the
correct cache control to save newbies hours of figuring
out how this is broken
My primary solution I require is how to manually set this in
my config file, so I can get up and running.
Thanks.
