The Archive base directory was broken, indeed. The following patch fixed the issue; it will be shipped with the upcoming Cherokee 1.0.9: http://svn.cherokee-project.com/changeset/5646 By the way, you can download the mailman.py file from trunk and overwrite the one in your local deployment.
