You're saying you're using a default PHP installation. Does that mean
you're installing from the package servers?
Try compiling PHP from source with everything you need and use that. I'm
running Cherokee with a custom build of PHP and never experienced any
problems like that.
Also, please attach your php.ini and your php-fpm.conf so I can take a
look. It may also be a problem with your scripts. (Mad loop or other
extremely long execution times.)
