It is ran against /viewcomments?photoid=123

If you look at the example - /(\d+)$  ->
http://example.com/inst/photogallery/viewphoto?photoid=$1

That first slash on the left starts after the host and you can
reference the host with {vhost} on the right side.

Does that make sense?
