Several years ago, I sealed the panel with window sealer from
Lowes. You want the type that does not have silicon and is paintable.
I used 2 tubes, laid it on thick and wiped the excess off. It remained
sealed for about 4 years. When I opened the panel it was clean & dry.
You want a non-silicon type cause the silicon will speed corrosion.
Recently I had the bed rhino lined, I had them do the tailgate
and rear inside panels seperately. Wish that the smuggler panel was
seperate too.
I'd bet that the correct stuff is available at any body/paint
supply shop. Seam sealer might work or the ribbon sealer by 3M.
