My brother used to have a 68 Malibu when I was wee little, he got a set of
side pipes given to him from a guy that was working on a Corvette, I think I
have some pics someplace, he does I think. It looked pretty cool, or at
least he and I thought. I debated them for my 66 when I first bought it.
My only complaint about them is that they don't feel so cool when you get
out and accidently touch them with your leg. I like the 70s looks with old
cars, don't know why but its cool. Its kind of what I shoot for when people
take a glance at my car, or as I call it, country hot rod look, its not very
modern, not too stock but somewhat, and not too clean. As a matter of fact
it has to have a a couple of flaws to look right, primer is very welcome
with this look. I'll see if I can't find some pics of my brothers' 'bu and
I'll have them scanned. The rear wheel exiting pipes are cool, there is a
guy in town that has the Nascar style pipes on his car, keeps the ground
clearence up and stuff, I think he probably got them at the muffler shop,
they might have bent them out for him or you might be able to order them,
dunno. I'll catch him next time I see him and see.
Josh
