Sorry for the slow reply. At this point all I know is the actual process is called 
Zinc Phosphate plating. I have heard the process is a little pricey but correct for 
the hood hinges/springs and hood latch assembly. I believe someone on Team Chevelle 
mentioned a company on the east coast that provides this service. I have not gotten 
the name of this business todate. Someone else here on the list might be able to 
provide that info.

The alternative to the plating is paint. I have read thread were folks have been using 
products by Eastwood. They are Detail gray and Semi Gloss black paints in a color 
combination. Also, I have heard of another paint product called castblast that some 
say works well. If anyone can add value to this please do. Ken if I can figure out the 
service for phosphate plating that will be the route I will venture. That will be at a 
later date though.
