How many miles were on your 200-4R when it blew? My '88 CSC has 124K on it and
the 200-4R is fine (so far). There are also many people on the Olds G-body
list with 100-150+K trannys that are still hanging in there. If you do regular
maintenance and don't abuse the car, there's no reason why you can't get 150+K
with a 200-4R with a stock 307 engine. It's true the TH350 is stronger in
stock form than a 200-4R; but the 2.74 first gear and 0.67 O/D of the 200-4R
are features that might make it a better choice than the TH350, at least in
some applications (i.e. street/highway driving). My $.02, FWIW.
