I gave an older fellow a ride in my '71 Chevelle this afternoon.  He started telling me about his two '69s he used to have.  The one he talked the most about was an SS396.  He said that on the air cleaner lid, it said something like "Owanda Racing", and on the underside of one valve cover it said "Owanda Racing" or "GM Racing" and "Tonowanda."  I know Tonowanda was an engine factory, but I didn't know anything about the rest of it.   Does this sound familiar to anyone?  I got the feeling it may have been 20 years since he owned the car, so he could have gotten some of the facts mixed up since then...   Thanks, Galen
