Several years ago, I installed a split bench from an early 80's el
dorado in my 72. I had to fabricate a couple of brackets/spacers and
drill new mount holes. It wasn't too tough at all. If you do
something similar, be sure to reinforce the floor where the bolts pass
thru - I used a heavy duty 2 inch washers. The power seats (leather
covered in decent shape) with all wiring and switches was $35.00 at a
pull-a-part.
Since then I replaced the seats with buckets from a 97 firebird. I
used the caddy electric seat rails & mounted the buckets on them. I did
the swap so I would have room for a console. The firebird seats were
$200.
I have also seen in many magazine articles, where folks use seats
from foreign cars, they are pretty widely available. Be sure to
measure the width of your 66 and take the tape with you whenever you go
to buy. If you want to find something that will use the exact same
mount points as the 66, I'd bet that you will be limited to a similar
year GM seat.
