I can't give you any advice regarding the Hotchkis springs, but I've got Eibach springs on my '71 Chevelle, and I've been extremely happy with them. They lowered the car approx 3/4"-1" all around, and they made a significant improvement in reducing body roll during cornering. In addition, the car still rides very smooth. They're not overly stiff at all, I would definitely recommend them.
