Ditto for me -- if the engine has been sitting long enough. I'm more than happy to crank it over a few extra seconds and watch the oil pressure come up before having the engine fire. Someone else mentioned pouring gas down the carb. While I've done this myself on occassion, just be prepared. If the engine backfires for whatever reason, you have the potential for a carb fire. Been there, done that. If you must pour gas down the carb, make sure you have something handy to smother or extinguish a fire. I used an old jacket to smother my carb fire. -Dave Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List ------------------------------------------------------------ I actually think it's okay to crank the engine for a while if it's been setting for a long time. I like to see the oil pressure gauge go up before the engine starts. ----------------------------------------------------- To Unsubscribe please visit www.chevelles.net/list.html To start a new topic, send mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ----------------------------------------------------- To Unsubscribe please visit www.chevelles.net/list.html To start a new topic, send mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
