I checked out that guys webpage with the 80 Elky. He said the hood was fine, except for the fact the hood springs made the cowl "bend" upward around there. that just sounds to me like he has crappy hinges. Or that they need to be lubed. You wouldnt notice it in a steel hood because they are much stronger.
