Well I thought I was going to be able to get the old 69 Malibu out to the paint shop by the end of this month, not gonna happen.  The body work is mostly complete.  We still have to hang the new 1/4s on.
I need an opinion here on the 1/4's too.  The repro skins I bought extend over the rocker panels eliminating the 1/4 panel to rocker seam.  What should I do about this?  Is there any good way to cut off the extra and bend the 1/4 so I don't lose that seem?
I have rustproofed the nearly the entire car except the outer sheetmetal that will be painted with Eastwood's Corroless.  I am still working on getting that wretched undercoating off the bottom, I am about 1/4 done, lol.  After I am finished with that, I will rustproof the bottom with Corroless and paint it black.  Once that is finished, I will remount the body to the frame, bolt it down, and reinstall the brake & fuel lines.  I have to still paint the firewall and reinstall all of the components that go one (master cylinder, wiper motor, heater box, etc.)  The fenders, doors, hood, trunk still need to be sanded.  I am debating wheter or not to send it out with the engine in it.  I put the 454 in the 70 after it got painted, tried to be as careful as possible but still managed to clumsily scratch the fender extensions :(.  I suppose I will have a nice work filled weekend busting my hump on this car.  I will try to get some c! urrent pics of it up on my AOL homepage.
Also, for those of you in the Maryland Chevelle Club, they will be running an ongoing step by step article in their newsletter over the next few months.  My goal was to have it done and unvail it at the Maryland Chevelle Club/ACES NE Regionals in June.  I'll keep everyone posted on my progress.
