I don't know if they are the same now, if they changed, or for sure what the
problem was, but I put some platinum plugs in an old oil burning 350 one
time and started to have a lot of troubles. My "guess" at the time was that
since the metal is so rare and expensive the electrode they used was as thin
as they could get it, and it may have broken.
I can't prove it, may just not have been hot enough plugs, I don't know for
sure, but I do know I had a lot less troubles after going to a new set of
AC's. I will use nothing other than AC plugs, or Autolite in a pinch. Never
been a fan of Champion's myself.
Experience sure builds up prejudices. Maybe I should take parts sensitivity
classes?

Checker is running a sale where Champion platinum spark
plugs are $1.09 apiece after rebate. Has anyone ever
used these? I've had good luck with Bosch and Autolite
platinums but never see them priced this low. They
would be used in a mild 350, BTW. Thanks!
