DON'T ! use a hammer on/in your rear end.

Are you sure they are both 28 splines ? well I guess you have counted them
more than once.

Take the carrier out and try the axle in it, if it fits it is jus a matter
of patience and it will enter.

Kind Regards
Andr

hello,
I am in the middle of replacing a 10 bolt 8.2" open differential with a posi
carrier. everything went really smoothley until it was time to slide in the
axles. The axles won't slide into the splines of the posi. these are the
original axles that were in the open differential.

I counted the splines on the axles and the posi and they are both 28 spline.
The only way to get these axles in is to hammer them in. Has anyboby had
this problem?

any help would be greatly appreciated

Cory Thompson
