My recomendation would be to get a car you don't care about for the winters. I drove my Chevelle daily for a winter...it was awful. All kinds of new rust popped up. Mostly from a previous owner cover up job, but the winter sure helped. To drive my Chevelle in the winter again would require sealing every square inch of metal in pullet-proof rust prevention. I started my restaration this winter, lots of rust I never saw while the car was together. :( Body work is expensive and some parts aren't reproduced. I won't risk rusting it out. Other people, though, seem to get along fine. The car has lasted (more or less) 30+ years already so maybe it's not all that bad. I just want my car around for a long time and I don't want to be fixing major rust more than once. Tim.
