Cliff.......what can I say......THANKS!!!! I understand it now!! The only
question remaining is how do you determine the amount of backspacing you are
going to need with a certain wheel and tire? Is there a calculation for
this, common knowledge, or is it trial and error? I have a 69 Chevelle and
want to put 285/40ZR17 on the rear and 255/45ZR17 on the front. The 69
Chevelle in the Chevelle Magazine used 17x8s w/4.75 bs for the front and
17x9.5s w/5.5 bs for the rear. Does this sound like this combination would
fit under my stock 69? Let me hear from people that have put large tires
and wheels like this on their Chevelle.

Thanks,
Lojac
