Morning...

Well, the title to my 64 Malibu SS arrived at my Post Office Box this
morning. So, technically I am now a proud owner of a 64 Malibu SS. The car,
hopefully, will arrive here before May 9th, my birthday...LOL And then, I
plan to spend as much time per day as possible on the car, full time, from
when it arrives, thru July 6th..., undertaking it's restoration. Have even
lined up help and already bought a lot of parts I know I'll need. Cleaned out
the garage...bought a bunch of tools and am ready to get to work.
It was 30 years ago July 6th, that I wrecked my first car...a 64 Malibu SS
Hardtop with dark blue and light blue interior, and the only car I ever
really enjoyed driving. So now, 30 years later, I now own another 64 Malibu
SS hardtop with light blue interior, and it is a all original solid
California built, Arizona car, ready for restoration. It is light blue
exterior now, but it's going to be dark blue when I get done.
I think I have narrowed the paint down to painting it with #916 Daytona
Blue Metalic, in a Urethane. The Urethane, so I am told, isn't enamel, and
isn't laquer. It's more durable and is easier to maintain. A much higher
quality than either enamel or laquer. I'm told you can't hardly tell the
Urethane paint jobs from the Laquer paint jobs, but I'm sure some may be able
to. It's not the original Laquer paint, and I wish I could afford Laquer...
to stay original, but it's not affordable.
I still am trying to figure out what tires I need to buy for the car. I've
asked several as to what is the largest tire, and what tires look the best,
but have not had much response yet.
When the car arrives here, I'll let you know and if anyone wants photo's,
ask at that time.

 Tom
