I have seen templates sold out of many of the Chevelle Resto catalogs (Ausley's etc.)...may be worth it.

Subject: Re: [Chevelle-List] '70 stripes

I did my 69 but it not a 100% true. But I did find a nice stripping tape 3M had. I used it to keep the 1/4" space between the 1/4" stripe. It had pull out sections for different spacing and sizes. It was green and about an 1" wide. BUT MAKE SURE IT WASN'T SITTING IN SHELF LONG it doesn't work as good with age.

Subject: [Chevelle-List] '70 stripes

subject '70 ss stripes.......

to make this simple, lets call the fat one the main stripe and the other the border stripe, with that in mind, its time ta make my '70 a little better looking while it is still in primer and i need a little help with mesurement and placement. If anybody with a '70 shouldfind themself with a few spare minutes and a tape, i need the following "specs"-- deal'n with the hood-- the width of the border stripe, the width of the main stripe, the distance between the border stripes in the center of the hood, the distance from the border stripe to the leading edge of the hood, and finally the space between the border stripe and the main stripe.......     Thanks Gang
