They are a 4-bbl - A Quadrajet was GM's carb from the mid 60's on. Really
small primaries for fuel economy and large secondaries for power. Much
aligned of the years but good carbs. Don't think the 283 had them as most
mid 60's on 283 were 2-bbls. They appeared on 327's quite regularly. My 67
Elky has a 327/275 and it came with a QJet. My (now gone) 78 Elky had a 350
w/QJet. The "High Performance" and "Special High Performance" Chevy engines
many times came with a Holley and all others had the QJet.
