AMEN!!!

I've been going to and participating in car shows as long as I can remember.
To get a thumbs up going down the road, or a comment from a spectator or
participant at a show is much more important to me than winning a trophy.
Now dont get me wrong... i still get tickled when I win a trophy here and
there (even with my 16 year old restoration)... especially at a show where i
do NOT know anyone.

Lately, I've been freshening the old girl up. Redid the trunk, new chrome
under the hood, fixing the things I did to her when I was 16 (boy, how I
didnt burn this thing up I'll never know...LOL). I too do 99% of the work on
my car (ok... maybe 98%). To me that is one of the joys. To buy a car
already done, show it and collect trophies for someone else's hard work would
just not be satisfying. But then that's me. I like to look back at the
fruits of my labor and admire what I've just accomplished (well, in most
cases). Sometimes it may not come out just quite like I had expected or
wanted, but that's OK. SHE's MINE!!

Just my .02
