Tim,

Have you checked into Glasstek hoods?  I've had mine on my 67 for over two years now and haven't had any problems at all with it.  It didn't take my bodyman very much time at all to prep and paint it.  Fit isn't as good as a stock hood but it's better than many I have seen.  A lot of folks on the Team Chevelle web site use them and, in comparison, are the best they've seen.  Glasstek doesn't have a web site but their phone number is 630-978-9897 and they're based out of the Chicago area.  They are the only company that made the 4" rise hood I needed but they will custom make any size scoop you desire.  Check any of the links in my signature line or go straight to http://www.dalesplace.com/htm/chevelle/the_body.htm for a before and after comparison.

John,
Everybody has good points. I asked a few months ago about buying a fiberglass hood, which I am still going to do. But everybody has had lots and lots of problems with thier products. Nobody had anything good to say about thier products, so Im not going to buy anything from them. One guy had to put about 40 hours worth of work to get the hood to fit, but its still not right. They said that it would be ok for racing applications, where the body and paint dont need to be perfect, because its made to race, not show....Just letting you know what all these guys told me
