good point Dale.  I have heard that Virginia is strict with their respective laws, you are not even allowed to have a radar detector in that state.  i think alot of people think some states may be a little lax in  those ways until ya find out the hard way. 
I will tell ya New Jersey is one of the tougher ones, but under historic registration, almost anything is legal, except no driving without a hood, they will hang ya for that, no open headers, stuff like that.  Only thing about being under historic registration is you cannot use it commercially or as a dailey driver, the big bonus is historic vehicle do not have to pass the infamous New Jersey State Inspection.  It's "exhibition purposes only", but hey everytime ya take it out you are exhibiting it to everyone on the road right ;-).  I wouldn't drive it everyday in this state anyway, too many wreckless idiots on the road.
