Well if you still have a stock coil and ignition I wouldn't go much more. I would personally stay down about .040 stock. .035 is usually what the manuals say, but usually you can open up the gap a bit more with out problems. If you have a high performance coil and ignition you can go up to about .060.   Mikey   I have a 71 Chevelle 350. I have a HEI dist. Now, what should I gap the plug to: .035, .045. 050.
