Further explaination needed, at least for me. I'm reasonably sure that you do your
alternator/charging system no good by disconnecting the battery with the motor running.
Do you have a volt meter?
(If not, you can buy one at harbor freight or radio shack for less than $10.00 -
they are handy)
If you do have a meter, reading across the battery with motor off should read about
12-13 volts if fully charged. Once the car is running reading across the battery
should be about 13.5-14 volts if all is good. If less than 13.5-14 at the battery,
take a direct reading between the battery post on the back of the alternator (heavy
post) and a good ground on the motor. It should be 13.5- 14. If less than that, pull
your alternator and have it bench checked at parts store.

Not sure whats wrong when i first start up the car it charges fine but when
it warms up i can pull the pos batt cable and it dies let it cool down and it
charges again hopefully someone can give me some answers
