      I cant give you a knowledgeable answer on the dry gas stuff. But I do know that the gas tank can be removed pretty easily, 2 bolts, 2 wires, and 2 or 3 hoses. Drain the remaining gas and get yourself a sealant kit. The one that I would recommend is called CREEM. I usually pick it up at a motorcycle store. It will seal any debris, and also take care of any minor holes or cracks. Good insurance, as I've spent many hours hunting down problems that were caused by contaminants in the gas. Its really no fun chasing down little particles of crap, especially when you know you could have prevented them. Take it easy.
