According to the "Chevelle SS Restoration Guide" (pg. 87) the standard tire for a 65 SS was a 6.95x14 blackwall Firestone. Optional sizes were 7.35x14 and 7.75x14 in black and whitewall, with various plies. Z16 option was 7.75x14 Gold Stripe by Firestone. It also said a common option was the standard 6.95x14 with whitewall (RPO P67).
