BTW, the under-hood lights that you see on ebay all the time can still be purchased through your GM dealer. These replacements have a longer wire than the originals, so if you want it to look technically correct, you have to shorten the wire.
John Nasta -----Original Message----- Hello List, Our car is spec'd on the build sheet to have a under hood light. We bought a repro unit and need to know it's mounting location and the electrical hookup. We been through the Chevelle Resto Guide and the 72 Service Manual and can't find this info. Thanks again to all who answered our questions on the A/C box removal and repair. Removal of the inner fenderwell screws allowed my husband to reach the bottom R/H stud by prying out the inner fender out just enough to get his hand in. We also had to replace the vacuum control pods both in the cowl and right side as both were leaking. We kept hearing a vacuum leak but never could find it under the hood. The A/C works tons better now!
