We removed the voltage regulator and cleaned all the connection on the regulator and plug. We then reco nnected the plug. When we turned the ignition to on, it was showing 12 volts on the Alternator and 12 volts on the voltage regulator. After r e- attaching the pigtail to the alternator we lost the 12 volts. I found t hat when the pig tail was disconnected it would show the proper 12 volts .. As soon as I would connect the pigtail to the alternator we kept loos ing it. The alternator is new.
