Guys,

Just wanted to thank all of you who responded to my questions. After about 8 hours of swearing and sweating today, I finally got my sister's Monte Carlo to run. I had to replace the solenoid again. Turns out they gave me the wrong kind the first time around. I also replaced the aging neutral safety switch and updated the horn relay which was falling apart. Turns out the initial problem was caused by the wire going from the positive cable to the junction block on the front radiator support. It got pinched between the new radiator and battery, causing a short. I also pulled out the engine harness and rehabbed the entire harness. Now that her car is running again, it is time for me to start welding the new floor pans into my 70 chevelle, then my new trunk floor. I guess you never really get done with your projects!

Thanks again,
Chuck
