When I was 16 it was a privilege to drive. My dad gave me his old car, a 65 Dodge Polara wagon with a 383 v-8,185,000 miles on it and a spun bearing. I worked at a shoe store for $1.35 an hour and spent all of my spare time rebuilding that engine so I could drive. I paid for my own gas, insurance, repairs, oil. tires, etc, etc. I thought it was a privilege to drive and I got crazy too. I was also envious of the guys that had hot rods like brand new Chevelles with 454's in them and 55, 56, and 57 Chevy's. Now most of the kids around here have newer and better cars than I do and don't even work. That's not only ridiculous, but bullsh-t. It is a privilege to be able to drive, but when abused the ones that give the privilege, have the right and responsibility to revoke that privilege. Whether you feel right, or privilege, respect the opportunity. (getting down off of soap box)
