there are at least 2 vendors that are reading this e-mail list.
There are several other big names such as "Ground Up", "Year One",
"Original Parts Group" and even GM is starting to sell parts for these
babies and may have never stopped actually. J.C. Whitney also carries
parts for Chevelles.
There are also more local and smaller "mom and pop" outlets for parts,
and believe it or not, many times your local auto parts store has a
large selection of parts and can special order things. I am impressed
with how much Walmart and K-mart have available for car restoration.
Another one is "Car Shop" in California. www.truckandcarshop.com They
have an awesome catalog specifically for classic Chevelles and can order
them for free I believe? From their web site or download a catalog if
you have adobe acrobat reader (free at www.adobe.com) installed.
There are tons of little to medium parts vendors that specialize in one
area of reproduction parts. You will find them at car shows and swap
meets selling items like new: chromed items, glass, gas tanks,
accessories, wheels, and more.
Get the car magazines, go to car shows and auto swap meets, join ACES to
get their magazine and hang out with the experienced ones at shows,
check out all the web sites you can find and check out their links.
>From what I have heard Goodmark has among the best sheet metal and sells
to most of those guys I mentioned. But you can also get cheap imported
stuff (although I believe I noticed a Goodmark box at the last car show
that said "made in Taiwan"?), so watch the quality. Prices aren't always
the only consideration.

I am wondering where you can buy new parts, i know of www.ss396.com ,
but are there any other place? I found a really good site, but its for
ford www.dearbornclassics.com , where there is alot of parts with
pictures and with details...
