In taxes if you have Classic Plates you need an annual inspection.  If you have 
Antique Plates you are exempt.  Different parts of the state have different 
requirements.  The populated area have an emissions test.  I don't know how this 
applies to classic/antique plates.  In sparsley populated areas  (like west taxes) its 
just a basic brakes, horn wipers check.

Texas has a rolling 25 year exemption. You shouldn't have to get anything
more than a safety inspection for a 68.
