Gary,          I'll pass on the carb questions. Going to use a Spread-Bore Quadrajet myself.    But I also have a 396 in '69 with a stock flat hood and am thinking about using the Performer RPM Air Gap manifold myself. Is that what you were refering to? If so, I wrote Edelbrock tech support and just got an answer back from them today. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi,      I am thinking about purchasing the #7162 Performer RPM Air Gap manifold & matching cam package. Is that manifold available polished?      Not at this time, but I am sure it will be soon.       I am guessing that since it's not specifically called out as not fitting that I can fit this under a stock 69 Chevelle hood ok?        It will be tight, so I would use a drop base air cleaner.     The engine I am putting it on is a June of 1971 stamped 402 (396). I have oval port heads.
