There is nothing wrong with a clone so long as you do not make it appear to be something it's not. My 70 is an LS6 clone, and the tell tale sign that is is not an LS6 is the fact that it is a factory A/C car. I made up a custom heater box to get rid of the A/C so now it is a non A/C car.
Then you have the people who try to pass of a clone as a True SS and the problem with 69-72 cars is that there is no way to tell if it is or not unless you have the build sheet or there is a "W" VIN code in the 1972 model year. I always ask people if there car is a real SS or not, then if I know for a fact it is not, I will point out that it is a clone and the specific reasons why I know this. I tore this one guy a new one for trying to pass off a plain as day restored Malibu as an Unrestored LS6.
There are also far more clones out there than True SS cars. This one show I was at had 6 1970 Chevelles there and 4 of them had the LS6 air cleaner/emission decals on them including mine.
Bottom line is don't pass it off or try to sell it as something it's not. People will know and it is also considered fraud.
